Introduction Carnmoney Presbyterian Church is one of the oldest Presbyterian Churches in Ireland as it dates from 1657 (There was a meeting house before this from 1622). Things were very different in those days. The worlds first pendulum clock was invented by a Dutch scientist (Christiaan Huygen) in that year, and Oliver Cromwell's Puritan Parliament were at loggerheads with both the Spanish and Dutch over trade issues. We hope you enjoy our little trip through the fascinating history of Carnmoney Presbyterian Church. If you have any questions, comments or even complaints, then please let me know. Gary Bell |
