2020 Vision

We have a daring and radical strategy for the next twelve years to deepen our relationship with Jesus, and to bring revival to the wider community of Newtownabbey. That strategy is called "2020 Vision".

"To be a vibrant Community of Christ in the next 12 years and one where our members' relationships with Jesus are deepening on a daily basis."

Implementing the strategy will involve taking risks and fundamentally changing how we do things. If we are to succeed, everything we do must be in accordance with God's will for us and led by the Holy Spirit. That is why prayer is at the very heart of the strategy.

2020 VisionThe reason for the strategy is clear. Church attendance continues to fall rapidly across the western world, especially in the traditional denominations. Many people have never had a chance to hear the good news of the Gospel, and don't realise that there is more to life than a meaningless existence. If we are to reach the lost in the 21st century, we need to do things differently.

Jesus told us that the greatest commandment was to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind". He also told us to "go and make disciples of all nations". That is what 2020 Vision is all about.

Everyone has a talent. Everyone. No exceptions. And all of us will need to use our God-given talents if we are to achieve our objectives. This is where you come in:

If you are a member of our Congregation, prayerfully ask God to reveal his plan for you and then fill in the form that was included with the Order of Service and the 2020 Vision booklet.  If you are unsure what areas of service would suit you best, let us know and we will help you make that decision.  Answers to some common questions are available.

If you are a member of the local community, pray for us and support us whenever you can. Why not come to one of our many events and see what God is doing on your doorstep?

If you are a visitor to our website from afar, thank you for taking the time to find out about our strategy. Pray for us as we implement it and check back often to see the results! If you are a member of a Church that has implemented a similar strategy we would love to hear of your experiences.

"You were given gifts. You came pre-packed with uniqueness, talents and purpose meant to serve."
