Our Committee Election for 2024 is now under way.

You must be on the Voters List (displayed in the Vestibule of the Church) to be eligible to be nominated for Committee and to vote in the election.


TIMETABLE

Nomination forms are available in the Vestibule from Sunday 5th May 2024.

Nomination forms (signed) can be returned (in the Box in the vestibule) on Sunday 12th and 19th May.  Papers should be submitted no later at 9pm on 199h May 2024.

Having read the type of individuals that we are looking for please prayerfully consider who to nominate. After names have been nominated the Kirk Session will review all nominations and finalise proposed names at its meeting on 28th May. The list of proposed names will be published on Sunday 2nd and 9th June - in our email and on the Church noticeboard. The names will be approved at our AGM which will be held straight after the 11am Worship service on Sunday 16th June.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Maintenance Sub-Committee

We are seeking 3 nominations for this Sub-Committee:

The work of the Maintenance Sub-Committee involves the repair and maintenance of our church buildings whether in responding after something has happened or predicting when a part of, or equipment in, the building is going to wear out. A key activity involves the monitoring of energy usage. The church cleaner and caretaker also require supervision and guidance. The people needed therefore in this sub-committee could be a building professional, someone with an engineering, building or cleaning services background, or someone with an ability to assist and advise with general repairs, etc. 

Finance Sub-Committee

We are seeking 3 nominations for this Sub-Committee:

The Finance Sub-Committee ensures that bills are paid, and that money received from the congregation and other sources is recorded and banked. It also produces a set of accounts each year to demonstrate to the congregation, Presbytery and Charity Commission for NI that our financial affairs are in order. This sub-committee works closely with those engaged in fundraising and is heavily involved in the application and reporting of our grant support from ANBC and EA. The type of person could be an accountant, someone who manages a large profit & loss account as part of their job, book-keeper, wages clerk, or a bank employee.

IT Services Sub-Committee 

We are seeking 2 nominations for this Sub-Committee:

The tech services team is responsible for the procurement and maintenance of the technical equipment in both campuses including the IT network, CCTV and audiovisual equipment, both fixed and portable. Members of the team work alongside staff and volunteer leaders to equip, advise and ensure we get the best use from the equipment, perform planned maintenance, and design and implement new systems. People in this team could be experienced practitioners in one or more of these areas or have skills in teaching and explaining technical equipment and apps to users of varying capability.

Administration Sub-Committee

We are seeking 2 nominations for this Sub-Committee

This sub-committee looks after personnel and industrial relations issues such as health & safety and pension contributions.  In addition, it oversees the administration of our church office and keeps our insurance policies and entertainments licence up to date. Insurance claims and related issues are also dealt with. Data protection policies are maintained, and the use of the halls accommodation is monitored. The people needed could have experience in personnel, administration or insurance.
